Senator Martine Hébert Joins the Independent Senators Group

OTTAWA, April 9, 2025 – Today, Quebec Senator Martine Hébert announced her decision to join the Independent Senators Group (ISG). Senator Hébert has nearly three decades of experience in public policy, governance, and economics, in both the private and public sectors.

 

Before her appointment to the Senate, she notably represented Quebec as Delegate in Chicago (2019-2021) and Delegate General in New York (2021-2024), where she worked on economic and diplomatic initiatives. Prior to these roles, she served on various organisations such as the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines (CRHA), and others.

 

In addition to her professional experience, Senator Hébert has been involved in various boards and associations in Canada and in the United States. In 2010, she received an honorary degree from the Université de Montréal in recognition of the excellence of her career. She has also been named an Invited Fellow by the Centre for Interuniversity Research and Analysis on Organizations (CIRANO).

Senator Martine Hébert was nominated to the Senate on February 7, 2025. Her addition to the Independent Senators Group brings the total membership to 43.
