Senator David M. Arnot Joins Independent Senators Group

OTTAWA, September 17, 2021 - Senator David Arnot (SK) announced today that he will be joining the Independent Senators Group (ISG).


“I look forward to working with the Independent Senators Group. I hope to make significant contributions to the work of the Senate and help tackle the broad range of challenges and opportunities facing our country.” - Senator Arnot on joining the Independent Senators Group.

After decades of serving the people of Saskatchewan, we look forward to his contributions here in the Senate of Canada.” -Senator Yuen Pau Woo, Facilitator of the Independent Senators Group.


Senator Arnot was nominated to the Senate on July 29, 2021, through the Independent Advisory Board for Senate Appointments. Prior to his Senate appointment, Senator Arnot was the chief commissioner of the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission.


Senator Arnot joining the Independent Senators Group brings the total membership of the ISG to 40.
