Senator Farah Mohamed Joins the Independent Senators Group

OTTAWA, June 4, 2025– Today, Ontario Senator Farah Mohamed announced that she is joining the Independent Senators Group (ISG). A social entrepreneur, charity executive and public speaker with over a decade of experience working in politics, Senator Mohamed brings a wealth of cross-disciplinary knowledge to the Senate.
As the founder of the G(irls)20, now called Fora, former Chief Executive Officer of the Malala Fund and His Majesty King Charles III’s charity in Canada, The King’s Trust, Senator Mohamed has been a longtime advocate for the economic benefit and positive impact to a country’s GDP that is generated by creating opportunities for youth, particularly girls and young women, in Canada and around the world.
Senator Mohamed is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012), a Meritorious Service Medal (2017), and the King Charles III Coronation Medal (2025).

Senator Mohamed was nominated to the Senate on March 7, 2025. Her addition to the Independent Senators Group brings the total membership to 46.
