Independent Senators Group Announces New Facilitation Team

OTTAWA, December 10, 2025 – The Independent Senators Group (ISG) has elected their new leadership. Members chose the following senators to serve on the Facilitation Team:
Senator Lucie Moncion (ON) – Facilitator
Senator Joan Kingston (NB) – Deputy Facilitator
Senator Pierre Dalphond (QC) – Legislative Liaison
Senator Chantal Petitclerc (QC)– Chair of Deliberations (continuing in this role)
The ISG extends its sincere thanks to the outgoing Facilitation Team for its dedicated service, and in particular to Senator Raymonde Saint-Germain, who has served in ISG leadership roles for the past eight years. The group also thanks Senator Bernadette Clement, who served as Deputy Facilitator, and Senator David M. Arnot, who served as Legislative Liaison, for their important contributions and steady support.
“I thank the outgoing Facilitation Team for its leadership and service, which have strengthened the ISG. I look forward to working with colleagues to advance our shared commitment to independence and collaboration,” said Senator Lucie Moncion, designated Facilitator of the ISG.

It has been a privilege to serve the ISG, and I am confident our colleagues will continue to advance the group’s commitment to non-partisan, evidence-based work, thoughtful deliberations, and collegiality,” said Senator Raymonde Saint-Germain, outgoing Facilitator of the ISG.
The ISG Facilitation Team supports the effective functioning of the group, helps organize its deliberations, and facilitates its participation in the work of the Senate.
The new Facilitation Team will begin its two-year mandate on January 1, 2026.
